The Forgotten Birthday Card

Context: I used to write weekly emails to my children. This is an extract from one written when I was on holiday.
Characters:
Jake: my number 1 egg
Roger: my husband
It was Jake’s birthday today. I forgot to send a card. Roger said to tell him that it was in a pile with his Mother’s Day Card.
We are having a lovely time and not a single cross word between us, although there were a few choice ones from Roger when he discovered that the After Sun I had packed had glitter in it.
