Tiny Humour Splash #24

Do You Eat Possum?

To make you laugh

Something has been dropped into coloured water, making a splash

Context: I used to write weekly emails to my children. This is an extract from one written in 2013

Characters: Ann, my cleaning lady

  • Two priceless Ann-isms this week — none of them quite as good as the “bi-polo” woman in Homeland but still . . . First was that I looked a bit tired and she didn’t want me over-texting myself, but the best one was that her daughter took her to a gastropub where they served “those posh chickens; possums*, they call them.”

* In the UK (and France!) baby chickens are called Poussins.

I came, I wrote, I conquered. That last bit might not be true, but at least I am putting up a good fight.
