This line shocked and saddened me too. I wonder if they had read your advice (especially number 2) whether they might not still be here. Nat, you have written exactly what I would have written if I had thought to do the same. It is all excellent advice and fits my own experience. I too thought I had to have a niche but dropped it. I too have had to let go of any pressure to write a given number of times a week.
