There is so much wisdom in this piece, Jacqueline, and I am sad it has not had more reads and accolades. Medium is a strange place and it can take time and effort to get eyes on our work. I so hope you persevere. My internal voice beats me up all day long, but this is the first time I have made the link between needing to stand up to it in the way (I hope) I would stand up to a bully in real life.
