There Has Never Been a Better Time to Write on Medium

Bear with me. This may be a tough sell.

Not long after I joined Medium, the management had just done one of its pivots and, with little notice, had ended the Bonus programme, which rewarded popular and active writers with payments up to $500.

The community was abuzz with complaints, and writers were leaving the platform in droves because their earnings were down.

Sound familiar?

My first paycheck was for 21 cents. The idea of ever earning a $500 bonus was laughable, so the withdrawal of the bonus payments didn’t bother me one jot.

Someone recently said I was their favourite philosopher. It may have gone to my head. I heard a voice saying:

“Annie, speak to us and give us of your truth.”

OK, on it.

[PAUSE]

Writers on Medium, of what can I speak save of that which is even now moving within your souls.

Yes, Annie, speak to us of Medium

When Medium calls to you, follow him,
