Thanks so much, Nat. Yes. I'm trying to write a memoir. I've just finished a 6 week course and am waiting for feedback (trying to breathe!) from an experienced writer/editor.

I'm thinking maybe start in the middle as you suggested (bank robber boyfriend abandoning me in Belize/four children waiting at home for me?) and then back to the start (lots of funny getting things wrong as a child); from there, unfolding chronologically to show how on earth I got to such a low place before continuing with more funny failures up to (slow reveal) autism diagnosis. And how that was the key to finally feeling able to come clean about the failures (because I had an excuse). And in the airing, finally finding what I had always been looking for: acceptance. Which is what I found here on Medium. Thanks to you, and so many others equally as kind and supportive. Your name will be in the credits, Nat. If I ever get that far 🤣

I came, I wrote, I conquered. That last bit might not be true, but at least I am putting up a good fight.
