Sure. Good question. I was put off early on when I read of someone who published in a publication. When it closed down, he lost all his work. Of course, you can back it up so that isn't a problem. But I like to retain full control. Etiquette is that you should ask editors if you want to edit a piece that has been published, and I just don't like to be a bother. I also like to delete stuff when I've gone off it, and, again, that would entail asking permission. I do publish with Smillew a bit because he doesn't mind what i do post publishing. And more recently I have submitted to pubs with boost nominators. But I have seen no advantage. I get just as many reads by self-publishing, And my one boosted piece was self-published.
