Such a powerful read, Selena and I applaud you for sharing your story here. May it reach all those most in need. I am in awe of how you have managed not just to survive, but thrive, in spite of it all. I am so sorry for the pain you had to go through and hope that transgender children born now are more likely to be understood and helped than they were when you were young. Still a long way to go, I think. Your plea that parents love their children for who they are is one that needs to be shouted from every rooftop.
