Such a moving article, Herbert. The first time i witnessed racist behaviour on a tube in London I was so shocked that, to my shame, i did nothing. I froze. I couldn't sleep that night and spent hours researching what makes people racist. I think most people are taught to be racist. I learnt that other factors at play are lack of education and lack of exposure. I also learnt to never accuse people of being racist. They will always defend themselves. Instead i say: do you realise that what you just said/did was racist? A small difference but I find it easier to back up. It helped me get braver at calling people out. A🙏
