Oh Patrick

This is the most moving piece i have read in forever.

I would keep my finger pressed on the clap button for an hour if could.

I am going to go back and listen to all the music you have shared here. I expect I shall cry (which is good)

I am not very auditory (more visual) so this will be a journey into songs I don't know (apart from Hurt by Johnny Cash).

This may be inappropriate, but I find myself wanting to say: I am so sorry for your loss.

I may need to spend some time working out why i feel more when an animal dies than when a human dies. I can't believe I have just confessed that.

I wanted the animal hospital to leap into action when you arrived. So sad that didn't happen.

I am not sure how you have managed this, but it seems to me that you have managed to explain the meaning of life and death, of nature and love, of hurt and sadness, of family and connections AND you have managed also to include gentle humour. You lift me up where i belong.

I came, I wrote, I conquered. That last bit might not be true, but at least I am putting up a good fight.
