My Love Affair

My husband’s asleep
In the other room
He’s snoring
And so we are safe

You’re all he’s not
So cool, so soft
So quiet

So in your embrace
I long to be

It’s been so hard to wait
To tell you the truth
I’ve been watching the clock
Ever since half past eight

I’ve hungered for you
I’ve longed for you
I can’t get you out of my head

I love you so much
I know it’s been said
I love you
My snuggly
My comfortable
Bed

I came, I wrote, I conquered. That last bit might not be true, but at least I am putting up a good fight.
