Love this. I think (as in all arenas) there are good and bad editors.

"Bad" for me means they want to change my voice into theirs. I suspect they are frustrated writers.

PS: I read all the Jack Reacher books, but I gave up when Andrew Child started writing. The difference was stark. I couldn't even finish it. I have given up on them now.
