Jae, it is so clear from what I have read so far of your work that you have much wisdom to share and there are readers who will find comfort in your words. The trouble with Medium is that it takes time and perseverance to build a following and get eyes on your work. It has taken me two years to get to where I am now and I can say only this: if you persevere it IS worth it. Not for the money, which will never be a reflection of the hours put in, but for the connections and support. I think the main reason to write and post work here is if you HAVE to write, as so many writers do. If you are born to write, Medium offers a safe space to do that.
