Because pictures paint a thousand words
You know when someone’s eyes shine brightly? That is the manifestation of Shen, which acupuncturists often translate as Heart Spirit. I named my dog Shen because, from the moment we met, I felt a powerful heart connection. If a soulmate can be a dog, she is mine. Don’t tell my husband.
Don’t worry, she wasn’t taken from her mother too young. We were just visiting her, and meeting both of her parents.
Can you see the light in her eyes? That is Shen.
Shen is a small lurcher. Lurcher is the name given to any mix between a sighthound and a working dog. She is a cross between a Whippet and a Bedlington Terrier, although I sometimes wonder if there isn’t a hint of bolshy teenager in the mix. Selective hearing is her special skill.
