I was riveted by this, Diane. I just went online and found some photographs of one of the mummified "Living Buddhas." I love your final paragraph—I often think and offer gratitude to my blood relatives/ancestors, but so much of what makes my life the way it is is down to the input and sacrifice of so many others.
