I love that your son is still connected to his divine spark. I don't think we ever lose it as adults though. I think it just gets buried under the piles of crap that society (and adults) can pour onto children. It can take a lifetime to clear the shit, but children can be our best teachers. You ask some great questions here Alicia and I love the way you are gently asking that people start to explore their shadow side. It is only when we shine a light on darkness and accept it that we can fully accept first ourselves and then others. I love this piece. And I love that you have parented your son in a way that hasn't crushed his spark. Now, what would need to happen for you to feel ok to dress like Amy Lee every day? Imagine what a role model you would be for him! I think clothes say much about us - it has taken me far too long to get to a point where i feel ok about wearing what I want to: i wear the same clothes every day! Yesterday I went over to the new flat we are moving into and one of the neighbours knocked on the door. Oh, he said: you are in your work clothes. Lord knows what he will think when he discovers that they are far more than that! And I don't care one bit. 🤣

I came, I wrote, I conquered. That last bit might not be true, but at least I am putting up a good fight.
