I have always been self-employed, James, and never really had a career as such. And yet there are universal truths here that still apply: don't say mean things about others, help others when you can, don't compare yourself to others, and focus on the positive. My favourite one though is very definitely to remember that my task is not to be perfect, but rather to be self-aware. Love it.
