I don't think you have anything to be ashamed of at all. I think the way you took what happened and then reflected on it is admirable. That you took things further and demonstrated such care with your son is a lesson so many parents would do well to follow. Teaching him that there is no such thing as a wrong emotion and it is ok to feel angry is wonderful parenting. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of the car radio. I comfort myself at times like these by recognising that the person who stole is likely far more in need than I am. And, like you, try to let go of hate and judgment. A🙏
