I did get a notification from Medium that i was a top writer in poetry, but it was in notifications, not responses and would have been easy to miss. You can see if someone is a top writer in something if you click on their profile and go to their About Me page - it appears at the bottom next to Medium Member since . . .

I got my top writer status by accident. Sheer luck. An article went viral for no good reason. It was something i posted (almost a rant) with very little thought or time spent on it. Go figure. And never underestimate the power of being lucky. A🙏💚
