I am sad to read that Alex is no longer a regular at the Hungarian Pastry Shop and I hope that someone, somewhere, has stepped in to fill the gap he left and help immigrants with visa applications. I love your writing Jon and the idea of you shedding your neuroscientist/professor coat, feeling unencumbered by all that entails, feeling free to be something else as you head for the pastry shop, is an image that will stay with me.
