I adore this response, Selena. Society places such an unfair burden on mothers (in particular) and the truth is there is no such thing as perfect parenting - only "good enough". I had a patient once who felt she had experienced perfect parenting. The most idyllic childhood free of all angst and stress. Just love. When she went out into the big wide world, she was totally floored. She had no frame of reference. Went on to become a social worker to try and sort it all out. And predictably got burnt out and saddened. i may come across as wiser than I really am/was in this piece. I made so many mistakes. But i was always honest with my kids. And always confessed my mistakes and asked for their understanding. They certainly learnt it was ok to be imperfect. Lot of love, as ever ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’

I came, I wrote, I conquered. That last bit might not be true, but at least I am putting up a good fight.
