I received a reply to one of my comments here on Medium, and I think it is worth sharing the exchange because it makes me look good.
It started with a reply I got from Nan Hutton, ThD. You should follow her, read her stories, and write lovely comments because she is the Queen of responses. Look what she sent to me:
Thank you! I appreciate that you are such a stalwart reader of my writing. You are such a gift, my dear, my soulmate. (()) (tha’ts supposed to mean “hug”)
My reply:
Hi Nan. If you want to do a Hug emoji, click the windows key on your keyboard, followed by the full stop. It should bring up the emoji window. Or don’t because (0) is good enough for me. 🤗🤗🤗
Wait till you see what she sent next:
🤸♀️🤩🎉✨ Oh my gosh! I did not know that! Life changing! (Of course I had to look up what a full stop was! 🤣)
Of course, I then had to look up what Americans call a full stop. You have got to be kidding me. A period? I am going to leave it there before this gets messy.
