I don't check out new followers work (not enough hours in the day) . If anyone comments on anything I've written i always go and read something of theirs and leave a comment in return, but I don't always follow them back - their writing needs to resonate with me. I love that you are more interested in building a family of connections, but what actually works best for me (if I'm totally honest) is having people that follow me, read my work and then a good mix of those that comment and those that never do. There has to be a finite number of people you can regularly interact with. I think someone did a mathematical model once and it was around 150. For me the number is more like 5. Ok, maybe 20 😂
