Hi Kimberly. That was kind of your writer/artist friend to offer advice but he has no knowledge of Medium. You don't get any money for publishing in a publication on Medium. The main advantage is that you may get more reads. And if the publication has the power to Boost your story you CAN earn a lot more money. Dinosaur Carnival doesn't have any articles in it! You can see if you type "Dinosaur Carnival" in the search bar top left, then click on the publications tab. A better fit for you might be Catharsis Chonicles (which does have Boost powers).
