Great read, even though I am not a sports fan. Brought back a memory, Matthew. I dated an Arsenal fan for a while who had season tickets (posh ones) and I went regularly and fell in love with the Stadium and the sheer skill on display. My children all support Liverpool (where their Dad is from). One of the kids had tickets for Liverpool v Arsenal in the Liverpool stand. I was an Arsenal supporter. He made me promise not to cheer if they scored and said he wouldn't be able to defend me. Half time and he left me to get some food and I got cornered by some fans who asked me if I was an Arsenal fan (I had the London look). I'm autistic and can't lie. I was in trouble. "Well, this would be a really stupid place to be if i was." I said. And got away with it. Phew.
