Dear Shannon, I find your writing really engaging and honest. Can you help me? I notice in the comments that some (lovely and kind, i know) people congratulate you on being smaller and/or losing weight. This always feel a bit loaded to me. If someone is "better" for having lost weight, regardless of the myriad possible reasons for thier weight gain, it seems to be implying that they are "worse" for being heavier. Do you see my problem? I want everyone to know that they are "enough" and acceptable, just the way they are. What comments do you find most helpful on this painful, courageous, extraordinary journey you are on? Are congratulations on being smaller helpful and welcome? Or not? Many thanks for writing such an inspiring story and sharing your photographs. I can so understand why you have so many loyal followers. A

I came, I wrote, I conquered. That last bit might not be true, but at least I am putting up a good fight.
