That is quite a journey you took me on there. My husband is a fan of the TV programme Long Lost Family - I cannot watch too many because i get too upset, but i have seen enough to recognise that your Mother must have been a very strong young woman and her love for you shines throughout this piece. I find it hard to understand the unimaginable cruelty that was inflicted on young mothers in those days. I do not think I would want to seek out your mother's family either, although I imagine you would be wholeheartedly and apologetically welcomed by the next generation should you choose to go that route.
