If you missed Part 1, you can read it here:

My body all tense
Like a tight rubber band
I waited and waited
Your plane for to land

And when you arrived
And hugged me all tight
I finally, finally
Gave up the fight

I said that I wouldn’t
I’m sorry I lied
As you held me so close
I just cried and I cried

I’ve been holding my breath
For five years you see
Not fully of course
But not really free

The shaking subsided
The cigarette lit
I chose to confess
I have missed you a bit

I came, I wrote, I conquered. That last bit might not be true, but at least I am putting up a good fight.
