A very thought provoking piece, arun. Two things occurred to me as I was reading it - i do think children need safe boundaries. Here is my thinking: if someone blindfolds you and takes you somewhere unfamiliar and plonks you on a chair and leaves, the first thing you would do would be to stand up (blind) and search for the edges of the place where you have been left. How terrifying it would be not to find anything. I do, however, agree with you that boundaries can become cages. And if I could go back in time I would want to un-invent barbed wire. A🙏💚
