A brilliant, well-researched article, Julianne. I hope you don't mind a couple of tips: take only what is useful and discard the rest! All photos on Medium have to be attributed. If you go into edit mode by clicking the 3 dots at the top, then highlight the gorgeous photo of your children in pyjamas, then click near the bottom: a little box will appear where you can put : Photo by author.

It is also a good idea on Medium to put (another) photo just below the Title: not mandatory but it is the advised format layout here.

If you click on a new paragraph and hit the + button, then the search one - you have access to thousands of photos on Unsplash that all come with the correct attribution.
