A brilliant article, Maria. I was in Cornwall when Covid hit. Rich Londoners all wanted to get out of the city and into the countryside. They bought up properties without even viewing them. And second property owners turfed out renters to turn their places over to Air BnB as the rates went through the roof. It was heart-breaking. So many families who had rented for years were kicked out. I heard from one estate agent that for every rental property that did come up (hardly any) they had 300 people chasing it. I think that $ 82.47 billion has come at too high a price: thousands thrown into poverty and homelessness. I'm off to read Jared's article now. A🙏💚
