😱

Oh Conni.

What a raw and honest piece of writing. I'm blown away by how strong you have been but also at all the mirrors of my own journey (apart from the beautiful bit) . It was an acupuncturist that rescued me, not a lawyer but . . .

But this isn't about me, it's about you. And your strength and your insights and how courageous you have been.

I remember watching a movie once where an older detective told a younger one that there would always be an unstoppable wave of crime. And I realised then that there would also be an unstoppable wave of sick people. I think deep down I thought I could save everyone. It nearly killed me. Yes, there will always be people who need their problems solved. Or their lives saving. But they need to do it for themselves.

We all need to save ourselves.

So glad that you saved yourself, that you found a good man, and that you are here sharing your story.

I was once taken to court for another man's crime - more of a misdemeanour really, but I still look back and think: why didn't i just tell them it was him. Honestly!

A great piece of writing Conni, and I am so glad we have connected here on Medium.

A🙏💚

I came, I wrote, I conquered. That last bit might not be true, but at least I am putting up a good fight.
